Juliana’s Animal Sanctuary is the first-ever animal sanctuary in South America. We’ve been saving and rehabilitating over 700 animals for 19 years. There are more than 200 animals in our sanctuary that you can support right now through sponsorship and donations.

We are international nonprofit organisation that brings awareness to the terrible situations faced by animals of all kinds in South America. Our motto is, “Equality for All Beings.” We provide not only homes and companionship for animals in Colombia, but also emergency medical care.

Who we are?

Juliana’s Animal Sanctuary is a safe haven for rescued animals in Colombia. We were the first sanctuary established in South America and since our founding, we have rescued and rehabilitated over 700 animals. We’re currently housing more than 100 rescued animals at our animal sanctuary in the town of Chia.

This animal rescue organization was founded on the dream of a five-year-old girl who wanted to offer a refuge for the animals of South America. Since 2006, this dream of an animal shelter has been a reality.

What we do for animals

Juliana’s Animal Sanctuary rescues farm animals as well as disabled and senior animal companions, providing a permanent and safe environment for them to live freely.

Our animal shelter also works in sterilization programs so as to reduce the number of homeless animals.

How can you help our animals?

As an animal organization that cares for and rescues hundreds of animals in need of immediate medical attention, your donations are incredibly valuable. In order to give the animals a proper quality of life that many have never experienced, your donations go to the upkeep of land and shelter as well as to food and care for the animals. As little as $5 can feed a horse for three days and $50 can buy bedding for all of the animals for a month. Here at Juliana’s Animal Sanctuary, we, and the animals, truly appreciate your support.

What We Do For Humans

Our animal charity serves more than the animal community. We offer a variety of educational programs that support vegan advocacy and activism within the community. Animal welfare is our top priority both inside and outside our animal shelter. That’s why we also provide vegan cooking workshops, a monthly vegan comic that is distributed to the community, vegan food distribution to promote Meatless Mondays, and more!
